Corrections Director
A rumor is out that Jay is considering ex corrections DAI Director George Lombardi as a possible candidate to take over the Director's position in Corrections. I hope he thinks long and hard about this. I have been in the department for many years. Mr. Lombardi is a decent man and was in the department for a long time. However, when it came to grievances that went through his office, he pretty much put a rubber stamp on them from a slanted management point of view. I do not remember one that was really taken seriously and found in favor of labor. If Jay is seriously wanting change in this department, he should put someone in charge that is fair, looks at both sides of issues, and sides against his management team when they are out of line. For years, job bids, promotions, grievances, etc. have been pretty much one sided. If a supervisor liked someone better, or didnt like someone that was going for a promotion or bidding on a position, that supervisor usually got what he wanted, regardless of seniority or the qualifications of the job. These practices need to stop. I voted for Mr. Nixon along with a lot of other hard working state employees, and volunteered my help in getting him elected. I'm not asking him to change his hiring decisions on anyone. However, whomever he may choose to direct Corrections should be sat down and explained to that negotiating with labor will be a very important part of his job, and that he should take it very seriously. No more ignoring unions and the working person.
Irrelevent?
The unions must be a waste of time if they can be ignored.
Why wouldn't the director ignore them if they are irrelevent? What good would come from butt-kissing the unions who are powerless to do anything?
Irrelevant
DMH: "Irrelevent"
I thought Blunt killed the SEIU when he took office???? It was the first thing he did.......DMH does not have a union that I am aware of. After what DMH has been through over the past 4 years. BRING ON THE UNION!!!!!!!We need a force to fight this neo-con crap!
UNITE!!!!!!!!!
